To me, an introduction paragraph is the most important piece in writing an essay. It brings the reader in, interests them in your topic, and is really a big deciding factor as to whether or not they are interested in continuing their reading. In They Say I Say, they continuously bring up and template that gave this book its title. The ‘they say I say’ template is an amazing way to add your personal touch to an essay also while remembering to engage what your audience may be thinking as well. It is extremely important to see all sides of an argument or claim and remember that there are so many different views on one small topic. Yes, it’s impossible to point out every view, but expanding your thought and looking at it from an outside perspective is a great tip when writing. In my eyes the ‘opposed to what’ template is a great tool for this. It allows someone to bounce off of their own ideas and look at it from an outsides perspective and take it everything they should be considering. When pulling yourself away from your own thoughts and thinking deeply on what other perspectives might be saying about your idea or thought is crucial when writing a solid paper. You most certainly don have to do it with every thought you have and that is also important to remember but every once in a while, remember to add two sides to a thought that is begun placed in your writing.
